For those who have not been out in a few weeks, the bay is hot - not only the surface temp, but the fishing action as well.
Thanks to the tournament on the bay - it showed that at least 4 or 5 of the teams fished fairly close to the harbor in less than 18fow and did well. If you talked to some of the folks who fished (at tleast the ones who were willing to share a bit of info) you could certainly learn something about walleye location. Thanks go out to those who share information - that is what our club is about - helping others to be better anglers.
Obviously it was not a "secret" for very long as the area between Grass Is and the breakwall has been pounded over the past 2 weeks. The other evening I counted 28 boat/trailers in the lot and I think 22 of them were in the Grass Is-Breakwall area!
A mixed bag of sorts has been caught with the walleyes hanging in with catfish and sheephead. Not sure how long the fish are going to hang around there, but getting out while the getting is good has made sense for many.
Best of luck for those who venture out - the next TBWC tournament is on Sunday, July 12th. This is the weekend prior to the Brown Trout Festival.
