As discussed at the October meeting, quite a few things have changed with the Brown Trout Festival and administration. One huge thing is that now all changes are run through the whole group, not just the board (as 4 have left).
To this end, Denny is our representative on the group and needs some ideas. Rick Konecke (sp?) is trying to formulate all the ideas for the fishing side of things and is going to have a meeting/discussion/ideas/gripe session at ACC - Granum Theatre on Oct 29...I think - check with Denny.
Let's use this post as a forum to get our ideas out there. I'll start and list some that came up at the meeting and have been discussed before:
1. Start BT on Monday so the Walleye event is stand alone.
2. Do not require the $30 additional BT fee - make it an option for those who may want to play for "board" fish.
3. Give actual/factual 90-100% payback - don't even need trophies.
4. Pay winnings at end of tournament
5. Need SERIOUS advertising 150 mile radius from Alpena
6. Live release
7. Spread out the sponsorship money to offer a guaranteed purse
8. Run the payouts for the Super and the Walleye the same - pro-rated for # of boats.
What else is out there?????
